Every year, Platinum Top 50 celebrates the agents whose production numbers tell only part of the story — the mentors, the community builders, the leaders who make our industry better simply by being in it. Starting August 1st, we're opening nominations for the 2026 PT50 Special Category Awards, and we want to hear who you think deserves the spotlight.
What Are the Special Category Awards?
Unlike the core PT50 recognition, the Special Category Awards are a supplemental way to honor and recognize our industry!
Nominations are open August 1–31, 2026, and anyone can submit one — including a self-nomination. If someone fits more than one category, they can be nominated for each, as long as a separate submission is completed for every category.
And a quick note before you dive in: you only need to submit one thoughtful nomination. Multiple submissions or crowd-sourced entries for the same nominee won't change the outcome — a well-written entry carries just as much weight as ten.
The Six Categories
Realtor of the Year — The well-rounded agent. This award honors exceptional production, professionalism, leadership, and community involvement — someone respected by clients, peers, and industry partners alike. Nominees must be a PT50 finalist or winner within the last 24 months and must have submitted a PT50 application by August 31st.
Career Achievement — A lifetime of excellence. For the seasoned industry veteran with 15+ years in real estate who has built lasting respect across the industry through mentorship and leadership. This professional does not have to be a licensed agent.
Trainer of the Year — Educator and mentor. This one's for the agent or industry professional who consistently invests in developing others — through training, mentorship, and professional development. This professional does not have to be a licensed agent.
Newcomer of the Year — An exceptional first chapter. Celebrating a new agent, licensed within the last 24 months, who's already made an impact through early success, community service, and industry involvement. Nominees must have submitted a PT50 application by August 31st.
Young Professional of the Year — Under 40, ahead of the curve. For the dynamic professional demonstrating real success, community dedication, and innovation — with a clear trajectory toward even more. This professional does not have to be a licensed agent.
Executive of the Year — The leader behind the leaders. Recognizing brokerage-level executives and managers who excel in leadership, motivation, and innovation while mentoring agents to perform at their best.
What You'll Need to Submit a Nomination
The nomination form asks for a bit of detail, so it helps to come prepared. You'll need:
The nominee's contact and company information, plus their market (Austin or San Antonio)
A high-res headshot of the nominee
Thoughtful answers to four eligibility questions covering what makes the nominee stand out, how they've supported their local community, their career path, and how they embody PT50's values of excellence in sales, service, philanthropy, and industry advancement
For each question, aim for 100–250 words. Specific examples make all the difference — the more detail you can offer, the easier it is for the judges to see what makes your nominee stand out.
One important distinction: a Special Category Nomination is not the same as a PT50 application. The two are separate — this is a supplemental awards nomination, so make sure your nominee's PT50 application is also on file if their category requires one.

Whether it's the trainer who never says no to a new agent's questions, the industry veteran who's shaped a generation of Realtors, or the young professional already redefining what's possible — nominations open August 1st and close August 31st, 2026.
There is no application fee or cost to apply. Semifinalists will be announced on November 1st, and the Winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in December. (Save the Date: the San Antonio Awards Ceremony will take place on December 9th at 9am. Tickets go on sale November 1st)
