When we dreamed up the idea of a real estate pickleball tournament to showcase the new amenity center at Park Central, we knew it would be fun. What we did not know was just how competitive, how electric, and how deeply meaningful it would turn out to be!
On July 18th, six teams of Austin-area real estate agents descended on the brand new amenity center at Park Central in Georgetown, courtesy of our incredible partner Tri Pointe Homes, and they brought everything they had. Paddles swinging, adrenaline pumping, and six incredible charities on the line.
This was not just a pickleball tournament. This was a battle for something bigger.
The Format
Nine round robin matches. Six teams. One court… and for some, Zero chill.
Each team played three matches in the round robin, racking up wins, losses, and point differential in pursuit of a spot in the semifinals. The pace was relentless. Rally scoring to 11 meant every single point mattered, every serve carried weight, and no lead was ever truly safe.
After the dust settled on the round robin, two teams emerged tied at 2-1 and punched their tickets to the semifinal round.
The Semifinal
Standing between two teams and a shot at the championship: Erin Brotherman and Mike Mogavero (Epique Realty / Compass) versus Steven Brandon and Ron Jones (Keller Williams / T. Kerr Property Group).
Both teams had earned their spot. Both teams were well practiced. And they played like it.
It was a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle that had everyone watching on the edge of their seats. In the end, Erin and Mike found another gear and pulled away, punching their ticket to the championship match.
Steven and Ron, you gave everything out there. Your cause, Key to Free, is lucky to have champions like you in their corner.
The Championship
This was the moment the whole day had been building toward.
Victor Torres and Patrick Eitel (Keller Williams) versus Erin Brotherman and Mike Mogavero (Epique Realty / Compass).
Two elite teams. One championship match. And for the first time all day, the stakes were raised even higher. The format extended to 21 points with traditional scoring, giving both teams more time to battle, adjust, and dig deep.
And dig deep they did.
The match was everything a championship should be. Momentum swings, clutch points, and the kind of intensity that settles over a court when everyone in the room knows something important is happening.
We are proud to announce Victor Torres and Patrick Eitel as your inaugural PT50 Pickleball Champions.
The Real Prize
Here is the thing about this tournament that made it unlike anything else: every single team was playing for more than a trophy.
Six teams. Six charities. Six communities that showed up in that room in spirit, even if they did not know it.
Magdalena House. Key to Free. The Locker. Integral Care. Brookwood in Georgetown. And Flatwater Foundation.
Because Victor and Patrick took home the championship, our incredible sponsor Tri Pointe Homes will be making a donation to Flatwater Foundation, an Austin-based nonprofit that has provided over 70,000 no-cost mental health therapy sessions to individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis.
You focus on surviving. Flatwater takes care of your mind.
What a cause to win for. What a team to win it.
Thank You
To Tri Pointe Homes, thank you for being the kind of partner who shows up, builds something beautiful at Park Central, and puts your heart into the community. This day would not have existed without you.
To all six teams, Dillar and Meredith, Steven and Ron, Kristin and Oscar, Jaclyn and Michelle, Victor and Patrick, and Erin and Mike, thank you for saying yes. Thank you for competing. Thank you for choosing causes that matter and for reminding this community that real estate is about so much more than transactions.
To every spectator, cheerleader, and supporter who came out to Park Central, your energy made this day what it was!
And to Flatwater Foundation, we see the work you do. We are honored to play a small part in supporting it.
This was our first. It will not be our last.
