The PT50 Real Estate Pickleball Tournament Is About More Than the Game

At Platinum Top 50, we love a good competition. But today's inaugural Real Estate Pickleball Tournament — Brokerage vs. Brokerage — at Park Central in Georgetown is about something bigger than who has the best backhand.

Six teams of Austin-area real estate agents are stepping onto the court today, each one competing not just for bragging rights, but for a cause they believe in. Our tournament sponsor, Tri Pointe Homes, will be making a donation to the charity of the winning team's choice. That means today, every point matters, and the stakes could not be more meaningful.

Before the final score is tallied, we want to take a moment to shine a light on the six incredible organizations our teams are playing for. Because win or lose on the court, every single one of these charities deserves to be seen.

Magdalena House

Championed by Dillar Schwartz & Meredith Alderson, eXp Realty

Magdalena House is a San Antonio nonprofit providing transitional housing, trauma-informed care, and wraparound support for mothers and children who have fled dangerous and abusive situations. Their mission goes beyond simply offering a roof — they walk alongside families as they rebuild their lives, offering the tools, healing, and community needed to move forward with safety and dignity. When you think about what it takes to start over from nothing, Magdalena House is the hand that helps you stand back up.

The Key 2 Free

Championed by Steven Brandon & Ron Jones, Keller Williams / T. Kerr Property Group, now powering the Russ Phillips Team

Key to Free exists on the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with hope and dignity. Their work is focused on helping women and children heal from trauma and exploitation — creating lasting, meaningful change for survivors who have faced some of life's most devastating circumstances. As Steven and Ron put it: "Together, we can help open doors to freedom and a better future." We could not agree more.

The Locker

Championed by Kristin Hepp & Oscar Hernandez, Coldwell Banker Apex REALTORS

The Locker is a Georgetown-based nonprofit that empowers youth through service learning, ensuring every child in the community has access to basic necessities and a sense of normalcy. There is something especially meaningful about the fact that Kristin and Oscar are playing for a charity that calls this same city home. Right here in Georgetown — the city where today's tournament is being held — The Locker is quietly and consistently showing up for kids who need it most.

Integral Care

Championed by Jaclyn Houghton, JAX Real Estate Group & Michelle Hendrix, Hendrix Residential Group — both powered by eXp Realty

Founded in 1967, Integral Care is Austin's leading provider of mental health and substance use services, serving individuals facing debilitating mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and intellectual or developmental disabilities. For nearly six decades, they have been a lifeline for community members who want to move forward in life but face battles that most people never see. As Jaclyn shared when choosing this charity: "Integral Care has given so much to this community since 1967, and I want to give back to them." Nearly 60 years of showing up. That kind of legacy deserves to be celebrated.

Flatwater Foundation

Championed by Victor Torres & Patrick Eitel, Keller Williams

Flatwater Foundation was born from one man's experience watching his father battle stage IV cancer and realizing that families had nowhere affordable to turn for mental health support during one of the hardest seasons of their lives. Since 2010, this Austin-based nonprofit has provided over 70,000 no-cost therapy sessions to individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. Their message is simple and powerful: you focus on surviving. We will take care of your mind. In a world where nearly every family has been touched by cancer in some way, Flatwater's work is as personal as it gets.

Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG)

Championed by Erin Brotherman, Epique Realty & Mike Mogavero, Compass

Brookwood in Georgetown started with one mother's determination to find meaningful work and community for her daughter with Down syndrome after high school graduation. Today, BiG serves 80 adults with disabilities — their "Citizens" — across three campuses, empowering them to create handcrafted pottery, jewelry, artisan soaps, and baked goods sold in their award-winning gift shop and café. Their gift shop has been voted Best Boutique in Georgetown seven years running. Their café ranks among Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas. And their Citizens show up every single day with purpose, pride, and joy. BiG is not just a nonprofit — it is proof that when you invest in people, remarkable things happen.

And the Winner Is…

As of this morning, that question is still being decided on the court. Six teams are giving it everything they have got — not just for the thrill of competition, but for the communities and causes they love.

At PT50, we are proud to host an event that brings Austin's real estate community together around something that truly matters. A huge thank you to Tri Pointe Homes for sponsoring today's tournament and for making this donation possible. And to every agent who signed up, showed up, and swung a paddle today — thank you for proving that real estate is about more than transactions. It is about community.

Stay tuned. The winning charity announcement is coming soon. 🏓
