How to Get Involved in Platinum Top 50® (PT50)

We receive a lot of questions from agents asking how to get involved in Platinum Top 50®, and we love that so many professionals are curious about our program! By popular demand, we’ve put together this guide that explains what PT50 is, how scoring works, and the different ways you can engage with us, whether or not you’re ready to apply yet.

First Things First: Understanding the PT50 Year

One of the most important things to know about Platinum Top 50® is that our PT50 production year runs from September 1 through August 31.

This timeline is different from the calendar year and is important information to know when you’re tracking production, community involvement, and professional achievements in preparation for applying.

What Is Platinum Top 50®?

Platinum Top 50® is a locally owned and operated recognition and professional development program designed to celebrate, elevate, and educate top real estate professionals in Central Texas.

We regularly post about events, educational opportunities, community involvement, and celebrations, many of which are open to all agents, not just PT50 members.

How PT50 Scoring Works

Platinum Top 50® scoring is weighted across multiple categories to recognize well-rounded professionals, not just high producers.

Scoring Breakdown

• 60% – Sales / Production

• 25% – Community Involvement

• 7.5% – Designations

• 7.5% – Industry Involvement

While production carries the most weight, community involvement is a major differentiator among top candidates. We value agents who give back, serve others, and invest in their communities.

It’s also important to note that we accept both MLS-validated and off-market/private sales. Because of this, MLS data alone doesn’t always tell the full story when comparing production.

When Can You Apply for Platinum Top 50®?

Our PT50 applications are open every year from August 1–31.

Annual Timeline

• August 1–31: Applications open

• November 1: Semifinalists announced

• December: Finalists and winners announced at our annual Awards Gala

For example, if you apply in August 2026, you’ll be applying for PT50 membership for the 2027 year.

Not Ready to Apply Yet? Here’s How You Can Get Involved Now

Even if you missed applying this year, there are several great ways to get involved with PT50 right now.

1. Attend Our Educational Events

We host large-scale educational events year-round, and several of them are open to all agents, regardless of PT50 membership.

The best way to stay in the loop is by following us on social media and keeping an eye on our announcements. We’d love to see you there!

Public educational events include:

• Thinkers & Doers (Spring)

• 15x30 Education Symposium (Fall)

2. Be Part of the Top 2.5% List

Each spring, we reach out to brokers in our database to collect production numbers for the first half of the PT50 year (September 1 – March 1).

From this data, we curate our Top 2.5% List, which typically includes around 500 agents.

What You Need to Know for the Top 2.5% List

• There’s no application required

• Your broker simply needs to participate and submit production data

• If you make the list, you’ll be:

  • Invited to an exclusive celebration

  • Recognized online by PT50

  • Provided with assets to share on your own platforms

Does being on the Top 2.5% List mean you’re part of PT50? Not quite.

It means we’ve taken notice of your high level of production in the first half of the PT50 year and that you’re well on your way to being an early qualifier for Platinum Top 50®.

From there, it’s all about continuing strong production while also focusing on the other three parts of the application process:

• Community involvement

• Designations

• Industry involvement

3. Stay Connected

PT50 is about more than awards. It’s about community, growth, and connection. Staying engaged through events, education, and social platforms is one of the best ways to become part of the PT50 ecosystem.
