Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Hanalei comes from a family of homebuilders with decades of experience in the Austin market. She grew up on construction sites, seeing how homes are created from the foundation up. She graduated from Westlake High School, received her BA from UNC Asheville and also lived abroad in Granada, Spain and Siena, Italy.
